PUBLIC RELATIONSHIPS INDEX STUDY 2019
The Argyle Public Relationships Index™, conducted in partnership with Leger Research Intelligence, measures six research-tested metrics of the quality of relationships between organizations and their publics: trust, satisfaction, commitment, caring for customers, concern for people, and the public’s ability to influence the organization. The study asks the public to rate organizations on these six dimensions.
In this year’s study of local governments, two thirds of Canadians think highly of their local municipality, and a narrow majority are satisfied with their local government – but only one third believe they can influence its decisions or direction.
Here are the reputation scores for the six major Canadian cities in the survey:
The net scores below represent the difference between each city’s ‘good opinion’ and ‘bad opinion’ score in the responses of its residents.
The 2019 Argyle Public Relationships Index™ is based on a survey of 1,564 Canadians, completed between July 19-22, 2019, using Leger’s online panel, LegerWeb. The margin of error for the study was +/-2.5%, 19 times out of 20. Leger’s online panel has approximately 400,000 members nationally and has a retention rate of 90%.
